Very predictable result when fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (10-5) smashed at home 13th ranked Baunach (4-11) 90-66 on Sunday. MLP Academics Heidelberg forced 19 Baunach turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) who scored 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Vance Hall (193-91, college: Bellarmine) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach Branislav Ignjatovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was center Leon Kratzer (210-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 21 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Slovenian point guard Aleksej Nikolic (191-95) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. MLP Academics Heidelberg maintains fifth place with 10-5 record. Baunach lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ehingen. MLP Academics Heidelberg will meet Uni Baskets (#9) in the next round. Baunach will play against White Wings (#6) and hope to secure a win.
