Regular Season Round 13: Mens Sana 1871 - Tortona 93-78

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tortona (7-6) against seventh ranked Mens Sana 1871 (7-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Tortona was defeated by Mens Sana 1871 in Siena 93-78. Mens Sana 1871 shot 67.4 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Mens Sana 1871 outrebounded Tortona 30-17 including a 26-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Mens Sana 1871 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 76.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). Naturalized Brazilian Jonathan Tavernari (197-87, college: BYU) contributed with 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 22 points and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Phil Greene IV (187-92, college: St.John's) added 21 points in the effort for Tortona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mens Sana 1871 moved-up to fifth place in A2. Mens Sana 1871 will play against league's leader Angelico Biella at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tortona will play against Rieti (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
