The game in Castro was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (15-8) played at the court of 8th ranked CD Castro (12-15). Universidad de Concepcion did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-70 on Sunday. Universidad de Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and forward Carlos Sepulveda Fredes (195-83) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universidad de Concepcion maintains fourth place with 15-8 record. CD Castro lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will face Espanol de Talca (#5) at home in the next round. CD Castro will play against Puerto Montt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
