Regular Season Round 12: Dinamo Tbilisi - Cactus Tbilisi 109-68

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#1) and Cactus Tbilisi (#5). Dinamo Tbilisi (11-0) smashed visiting Cactus Tbilisi (5-6) by 41 points 109-68. The game without a history. Dinamo Tbilisi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Cactus Tbilisi's 36 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Cactus Tbilisi 47-24 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dinamo Tbilisi looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Cactus Tbilisi's players. The winners were led by international point guard Nodar Gogodze (191-94) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 assists and the former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) supported him with 21 points. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by the former international swingman Beqa Chikviladze (196-91) did not help to save the game for Cactus Tbilisi. American guard Tyler White (190-93, college: N.Kentucky) added 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dinamo Tbilisi have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Loser Cactus Tbilisi keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi will meet Energy Invest (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cactus Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Mgzavrebi.
