Regular Season Round 11: Hap.Haifa - Galil Elion 77-73

Date: December 20, 2016
Very predictable result when seventh ranked Hap.Haifa (6-4) won against at home 12th ranked Galil Elion (4-7) 77-73. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Galil Elion was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) helped adding 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Cinmeon Bowers (201-93, college: Auburn) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Galil Elion players scored in double figures. Hap.Haifa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hap.R/G Givat. Galil Elion lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Maccabi H/H. Hap.Haifa will play against league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona in Nes Ziyona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galil Elion will play at home against Hapoel Afula (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
