Regular Season Round 13: Widzew - MKK Siedlce 59-75

Bottom-ranked MKK Siedlce managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of six consecutive losses on Wednesday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Widzew in Lodz 75-59. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference suggests that MKK Siedlce is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 32. MKK Siedlce looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ukrainian forward Oksana Mollova (188-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and forward Magdalena Koperwas (177-93) accounted for 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four MKK Siedlce players scored in double figures. International Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84, agency: Promotex) came up with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Julia Drop (175-95) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Widzew in the defeat. Widzew's coach Dariusz Raczynski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. MKK Siedlce (2-11) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with TS Ostrovia. Loser Widzew keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. MKK Siedlce will meet at home higher ranked AZS UMCS (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Widzew will play against Energa Torun (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
