Regular Season Round 12: Angers - Nice 55-60

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Nice (7-5) beat on the road bottom-ranked Angers (2-10) 60-55. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Angers won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nice dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Angers' 22. The best player for the winners was American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds. German forward Romy Baer (187-87) chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Nice's coach Rachid Meziane allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Romane Bernies (170-93) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively. Nice have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 7-5 record, which they share with Villeneuve. Angers lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with ten games lost. Nice's next round opponent will be Mondeville (#7) on the road. Angers will play against Nantes Reze (#8) and hope to win that game.
