A very interesting game took place in Puerto Montt. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked CD Castro (12-16) to ninth ranked Puerto Montt (11-14) 82-79 on Wednesday evening. Strangely CD Castro outrebounded Puerto Montt 46-18 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) notched 27 points to lead the effort and Francisco Jara (192-87) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) did not help to save the game for CD Castro. His fellow American import forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt maintains ninth position with 11-14 record. CD Castro lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Puerto Montt's next round opponent will be higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (#7) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
