Regular Season Round 23: Mazeikiai - KTU 69-66

A very interesting game took place in Mazeikiai. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked KTU (9-15) to eleventh ranked Mazeikiai (9-15) 69-66 in the game for the ninth place. It looked good early as KTU took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mazeikiai had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and KTU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-69. Swingman Kostas Jonuska (195-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mantas Serksnas (202-96) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Deividas Poguzinskas (202-95, college: High School) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Arturs Pelss (181-87) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for KTU. Mazeikiai moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Delikatesas and KTU. KTU lost sixth consecutive game. Mazeikiai's next round opponent will be again KTU (#9) in Kaunas.
