Regular Season Round 12: Anwil - Polpharma 89-79

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Anwil (9-5) won against 13th ranked Polpharma (6-8) in Wloclawek 89-79 on Friday. It was a good game for the former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Kamil Laczynski (183-89) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Polpharma. Four Anwil and five Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Mindaugas Budzinauskas gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Anwil moved-up to third place. Loser Polpharma dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Anwil will face Rosa (#7) in Radom in the next round. Polpharma will play at home against AZS Polfarmex (#15) and hope to win that game.
