Regular Season Round 21: Dnipro - Budivelnyk 59-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dnepropetrovsk. Second ranked Budivelnyk faced 3rd placed Dnipro. Guests from Kyiv (15-4) defeated host Dnipro (13-6) 75-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dnipro. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) who scored 18 points and 5 assists. The former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 17 points. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Anton Dziuba (204-95) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-4 record having just two point less than leader Khimik. Dnipro at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face Zaporizhya (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dnipro will play at home against Cherkasy (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
