There was a minor upset in Kazrin where 10th ranked Hapoel Afula (5-7) was defeated by twelfth ranked Galil Elion (5-7) 77-73 on Tuesday. Galil Elion looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Rom Geffen (190-94) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Orel Lev (195-93) added 17 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galil Elion moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Maccabi H/H and Hapoel G/A. Galil Elion will meet higher ranked Maccabi Rehovot (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Afula will play against the league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
