Regular Season Round 13: Vichy Clermont - Boulogne 85-96
Date: December 27, 2016
Bottom-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne managed to get a fourth victory. This time they won against eighth-ranked JA Vichy 96-85. It looked good early as JA Vichy took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then SO Maritime Boulogne took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Xavier Corosine (183-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all eight shots !!!). Dutch Worthy de Jong (194-88) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. David Denave (193-85) answered with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American point guard Dustin Ware (183-90, college: Georgia) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists in the effort for JA Vichy. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SO Maritime Boulogne (4-9) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Rouen and St Chamond. JA Vichy at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against higher ranked Lille Metropole (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JA Vichy will play against Chorale de Roanne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
