CD Castro's home win over higher ranked AB Ancud 70-66 was very exciting. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of AB Ancud. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. CD Castro's coach M De La Fuente allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Renato Vera (199-87) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. CD Castro maintains eighth position with 13-16 record. Loser AB Ancud keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. CD Castro will face higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AB Ancud will play against the league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol having rather not much hope for a victory.
