Date: January 1, 2017
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Adelaide 36ers (11-7) in Melbourne on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked United (10-9) 104-73. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. The game without a history. United led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Adelaide 36ers turnovers. American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) stepped up and scored 30 points and 7 assists for the winners and the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) chipped in 20 points and 4 steals. Four United players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds.
