A very close game took place in Aanekoski between Catz Lappeenranta and Aanekosken. Fifth ranked Catz Lappeenranta (9-7) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Aanekosken (6-11). Catz Lappeenranta managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 24-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) came up with 31 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (183-70, college: New Orleans) added 6 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Aanekosken in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Catz Lappeenranta. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Aanekosken lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will meet Peli-Karhut (#8) in the next round. Aanekosken will play against Espoo Team and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
