D1 top team - Maccabi Ramat Gan (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eighth ranked Hapoel Z/MM (2-7) 86-69. Maccabi Ramat Gan players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Guard Bria Holmes (185-94, college: W.Virginia) notched 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) supported her with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Alex Harden (180-93, college: Wichita St.) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Z/MM. Her fellow American import guard Kim Demmings (173-92, college: Wright St.) added 25 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Hapoel Z/MM's coach Nimrod Maytal rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Ramat Gan have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Z/MM lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. They share the position with Hap.Petah Tikva. Maccabi Ramat Gan will play against Ramat Hasharon (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Z/MM will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion and hopes to get back on the winning track.
