There was no surprise in Aguascalientes where 10th ranked Correcaminos (5-20) were defeated by fifth ranked Panteras (13-12) 82-75 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Panteras forced 21 Correcaminos turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Panteras made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Kennedy Jones (201, college: Arlington Baptist) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panteras maintains fifth position with 13-12 record. Loser Correcaminos stay at the bottom place with 20 games lost. Panteras will again meet at home bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Correcaminos will have a break next round.
