Regular Season Round 16: Latina Basket - Mens Sana 1871 86-61

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Latina Basket and 8th ranked Mens Sana 1871 had identical 7-7 record. This time Latina Basket used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Siena 86-61 on Friday night. Latina Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mens Sana 1871's 38. Mens Sana 1871 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Jonathan Arledge (206-91, college: ODU, agency: Two Points) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Latina Basket players scored in double figures. Latina Basket's coach Franco Gramenzi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: Md-E Shore) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) scored 13 points. Latina Basket (8-7) moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Mens Sana 1871 dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Latina Basket will face higher ranked Tortona (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mens Sana 1871 will play against Scafati (#16) and hope to win that game.
