Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Roseto (9-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Verona (7-9) 81-65 on Friday. Roseto shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Verona's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists and power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) who added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Roseto players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Michael Frazier (193-94, college: Florida) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island) scored 13 points. Roseto maintains eighth position in A2 with 9-7 record. Loser Verona keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. Roseto will face higher ranked Alma Trieste (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Verona will play against F.Kontatto BO (#7) and hope to win that game.
