The game in Hamar was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Valur (9-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Hamar (5-8). Valur defeated Hamar 108-92. It looked good early as Hamar took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valur had a 26-20 second period charge getting the lead and Hamar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 92-108. Valur made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Valur had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard Oddur Olafsson (180-92, college: Birm.Southern) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Five Hamar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valur have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Hamar at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Vestri. Valur will play against IA (#8) in Akranes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hamar will play on the road against Breidablik in Kopavogur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
