Regular Season Round 17: Angers BC - Caen 95-101

Very expected game when 11th ranked Angers BC (8-9) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Caen (11-6) 101-95 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Caen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. Angers BC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Cape Verdean swingman B.J. Monteiro (196-90, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) produced 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Hugo Suhard (184-92) added 25 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Caen and four Angers BC players scored in double figures. Caen moved-up to third place, which they share with RAC Basket. Loser Angers BC dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Caen will face ALS Basket (#13) in Andrezieux in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Angers BC will play at home against UB Chartres and hope to win that game.
