The game in Valdivia was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked AB Ancud (18-13) played at the court of 7th ranked Las Animas (14-17). AB Ancud managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81 on Saturday. Venezuelan swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) notched 22 points to lead the effort and the former international point guard Pedro Sandoval (175-89) supported him with 18 points. AB Ancud's coach Ivan Gallardo used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Aspire Sports) did not help to save the game for Las Animas. His fellow American import guard Dominic Cheek (198-91, college: Villanova) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. AB Ancud moved-up to fourth place. Las Animas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. AB Ancud will meet at home Puerto Montt (#7) in the next round. Las Animas will play against CD Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
