Regular Season Round 13: Promitheas - Koroivos 79-81

Important game to mention about took place in Patras. Twelfth ranked Koroivos (4-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Promitheas (4-9) 81-79 in the fight for the ninth place. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 22-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Koroivos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Promitheas was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American Toddrick Gotcher (193-93, college: Texas Tech) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. At the losing side Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Promitheas' coach Nikos Vetoulas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Koroivos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Promitheas. Promitheas lost their fifth game in a row. Koroivos will face league's leader Olympiacos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
