Important game to mention about took place in Quintanar. Ninth ranked Quintanar (8-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Azuqueca (8-6) 80-79 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. American forward Anthony Freeman (203-91, college: Union, TN) saved the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Cuban point guard Taylor Garcia (182-87) contributed with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Quintanar players scored in double figures. Jorge Tejera (200-92) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Luis Valera (202-88, college: UTRGV, agency: Duran International) added 20 points in the effort for Azuqueca. Quintanar have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Loser Azuqueca dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Quintanar will face higher ranked Real Madrid II (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Azuqueca will play against Torrelodones and hope to win that game.
