No shocking result in a game when third ranked Espoo Utd (10-5) beat at home 6th ranked ViVe (6-9) 73-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 38-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Minna Mali (170-97) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Deven Hunter (190-94, college: Oregon St.) added 15 points and 20 rebounds respectively for ViVe in the defeat. Newly promoted Espoo Utd maintains third place with 10-5 record having just three points less than leader HyPo. Loser ViVe keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Espoo Utd will meet bottom-ranked Helmi Basket (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ViVe will play against the league's second-placed Forssan Alku (#2) and hope to secure a win.
