Regular Season Round 23: Nitra - Karlovka 88-90

A very interesting game took place in Nitra. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Nitra (2-19) to ninth ranked Karlovka (6-16) 90-88 in the game for the ninth place. 24 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International guard Dalibor Hlivak (190-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Adam Samek (181-95) answered with 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Nitra. Five Nitra players scored in double figures. Nitra's coach Peter Seman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Karlovka maintains ninth place with 6-16 record. Nitra lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 19 games lost. Karlovka's next round opponent will be league's leader Kosice at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
