Regular Season Round 17: CFBB - Lourdes 61-84

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-61 loss to eighth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (9-8) in Paris. The game was mostly controlled by Lourdes-Tarbes. CFBB was better in third quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lourdes-Tarbes forced 27 CFBB turnovers. Strangely CFBB outrebounded Lourdes-Tarbes 37-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Forward Florian Lesca (198-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. Naturalized American guard Jourdan Demuynck (198-90, college: Prairie View A&M, agency: HMS) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach Alex Casimiri felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Sofiane Briki (190-99) answered with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ivan Fevrier (203-99) added 14 points in the effort for CFBB. Lourdes-Tarbes have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Chartres and Orchies. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against league's leader Souffelweyersheim at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against Gries/Oberhoffen (#16) in Bischwiller and hopes to get finally their first victory.
