Regular Season Round 13: Akademik PL - Cherno More 90-89

The most exciting game of round 13 in the NBL took place in Plovdiv. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Cherno More (4-8) to third ranked Academik Plovdiv (7-4) 90-89 on Sunday evening. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Shakir Smith (185-92, college: Adams St.) chipped in 23 points. Guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Deyan Karamfilov (180-94) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Academik Plovdiv and five Cherno More players scored in double figures. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Academik Plovdiv maintains third place with 7-4 record having four points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Cherno More at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Levski (#9) in Sofia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cherno More will play at home against Balkan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
