Regular Season Round 17: Suchy Las - AZS PGd 67-74

Everything went according to plan when third ranked AZS PGd (11-5) defeated 11th ranked Suchy Las (2-12) in Poznan 74-67 on Sunday. AZS PGd had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Robert Kolka (184-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 assists. Center Przemyslaw Rduch (208-86) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Wojciech Frackowiak (186-97) answered with 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Dawid Gruszczynski (195-97) added 12 points in the effort for Suchy Las. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for AZS PGd. They maintain third place in Group A with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader R8 Basket Krk. Newly promoted Suchy Las keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. AZS PGd will face SMS PZKosz (#6) in Wladyslawowo in the next round. Suchy Las will play on the road against Asseco II (#7) in Gdynia and hope to win that game.
