Not a big story in a game in Varese where 14th ranked Openjobmetis VA (4-11) was defeated by eleventh ranked Auxilium TO (7-8) 86-79 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. It was a great evening for American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American-Nigerian power forward O.D. Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. Five Auxilium TO and four Openjobmetis VA players scored in double figures. Auxilium TO moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Openjobmetis VA lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Auxilium TO will face higher ranked Scandone AV (#3) in Avellino in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Openjobmetis VA will play at home against Banco di Srd (#6) and hope to win that game.
