Rather expected game when 14th ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (2-12) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Hapoel Afula (6-8) 88-77. Hapoel Afula forced 28 Ironi Ramat Gan turnovers. Strangely Ironi Ramat Gan outrebounded Hapoel Afula 41-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Kyle Casey (201-89, college: Harvard) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Hapoel Afula's coach Roi Perl allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. U.S. Virgin Islands forward Aaron Brown (196-92, college: Boston Coll.) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and point guard Yoad Bet-Yosef (182-87) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Hapoel Afula moved-up to eleventh place. Ironi Ramat Gan lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Hapoel Afula will play against higher ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ironi Ramat Gan will play against Maccabi Rehovot (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
