Regular Season Round 22: Pyrinto - Lapua 74-76

The most exciting game of round 22 in the Korisliiga took place in Tampere. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (8-13) to fifth ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (11-9) 76-74 on Wednesday evening. Tampereen Pyrinto cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Lapuan Korikobrat made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: Stealth Sport) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Lawrence Kinnard (203-86, college: UAB) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Lapuan Korikobrat players scored in double figures. American forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the former international point guard Antero Lehto (185-84) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Lapuan Korikobrat have a solid four-game winning streak. Lapuan Korikobrat maintains fifth position with 11-9 record. Tampereen Pyrinto at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with BC Nokia. Lapuan Korikobrat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tampereen Pyrinto will play on the road against the league's leader Helsinki Seagulls (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
