Regular Season Round 16: Espoo Team - Huima 69-68

The most exciting game of round 16 in the SM-sarja took place in Espoo. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Aanekosken (6-12) to ninth ranked Espoo Team (6-10) 69-68 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-68. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Morgan Bailey (189-92, college: BYU) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Espoo Team's coach Niko Hellman used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Ghanian forward Batabe Zempare (188-94, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds and American guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Aanekosken players scored in double figures. Espoo Team moved-up to seventh place, which they share with ViVe. Aanekosken at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Espoo Team is looking forward to face ViVe (#7) in Vimpeli in the next round. Aanekosken will play at home against Kouvottaret and is hoping to win this game.
