Regular Season Round 13: Keflavik - Thor Thorl 82-85

Another exciting game for Thor Thorl (7-6) which played on the court of 6th ranked Keflavik (6-7). Eighth ranked Thor Thorl upset home team edging them after exciting game by three points 85-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Keflavik. It looked good early as Keflavik took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Thor Thorl had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Keflavik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-85. Thor Thorl made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and naturalized Polish Maciej Baginski (195-95) chipped in 26 points (made all of his seven free throws). Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Magnus Traustason (190-96) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thor Thorl have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Grindavik and Thor AK. Keflavik at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur and IR. Thor Thorl will play against Haukar (#11) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Keflavik will play on the road against Snaefell (#12) in Stykkisholmur and hopes to get back on the winning track.
