Regular Season Round 13: Thor AK - Tindastoll 100-85

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tindastoll (9-4) against sixth ranked Thor AK (7-6) on Thursday night. Visiting Tindastoll was defeated by Thor AK in Akureyri 100-85. The game was mostly controlled by Thor AK. Tindastoll managed to win third quarter 26-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) nailed 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and guard Ingvi Rafn Ingvarsson (187-94) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists. Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and British swingman Chris Caird (198-89, college: Drake, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tindastoll in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thor AK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Grindavik and Thor Thorl. Loser Tindastoll keeps the third position with four games lost. Thor AK will meet Skallagrimur (#8) in the next round. Tindastoll will play against IR (#9) and hope to secure a win.
