Regular Season Round 26: Santos - Abejas 90-92

A very interesting game took place in San Luis Potosi. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Santos (10-17) to ninth ranked Abejas (9-18) 92-90 on Thursday evening. Abejas players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized American Richard Dixon (196, college: Tuskegee, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward B.J. West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 21 rebounds and the former international point guard Franco Harris (182-83, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) added 17 points and 7 assists in the effort for Santos. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Santos' coach Andres Contreras tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Abejas maintains ninth position with 9-18 record. Santos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 17 games lost. Abejas will have a break next round.
