Regular Season Round 26: Soles - Panteras 80-84

The most important game in the last round took place in Mexicali between second ranked Soles (17-11) and fifth ranked Panteras (14-12) on Thursday night. Soles were defeated by Panteras in a tough game at home 80-84. Soles were trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 26-18 charge of Panteras, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Soles' 32. American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Isaac Gutierrez (204-84) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Panteras' coach Allans Colon used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian Chamberlain Oguchi (196-86, college: Illinois St.) scored 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Soles players scored in double figures. Panteras have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 14-12 record. Soles at the other side keep the second place with 11 games lost. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Soles will play again at home against Panteras and are hoping to win this game.
