Important game to mention about took place in Kotka. Ninth ranked Peli-Karhut (6-9) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Catz Lappeenranta (9-8) 74-71 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Catz Lappeenranta. Catz Lappeenranta was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 27-11 third quarter run of Peli-Karhut. The winners were led by international swingman Roosa Lehtoranta (176-97) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Amanda Lassiter (186-79, college: Missouri) supported her with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 29 points and 14 rebounds by American Chandrea Jones (177-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Catz Lappeenranta. Her fellow American import forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Catz Lappeenranta's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Peli-Karhut have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Defending champion Catz Lappeenranta keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Peli-Karhut will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Catz Lappeenranta will play at home against Helmi Basket (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
