Regular Season Round 20: Castello - Ourense 75-80

Everything went according to plan in Castellon where eighth ranked Ourense (12-8) beat 11th ranked Castello (9-11) 80-75. It looked good early as Castello took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ourense had a 27-18 second period charge getting the lead and Castello was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-80. Ourense shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. Canadian-Bosnian guard Nemanja Mitrovic (197-90, college: Portland) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Ourense players scored in double figures. Guard Eduardo Duran (190-91, agency: Duran International) replied with 13 points and power forward Federico Ucles (204-93) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Castello. Castello's coach Toni Ten tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ourense moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Coruna and Araberri. Castello at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Ourense's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian and it may be quite challenging game. Castello will play on the road against Cocinas.com (#15) in Logrono and hope to win that game.
