Regular Season Round 16: Hottur - Armann 106-79

D1 top team - Hottur (13-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Armann (0-15) in Egilsstadir 106-79. The game was mostly controlled by Hottur. Armann was better in third quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hottur forced 21 Armann turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Hottur brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Aaron Moss (185, college: Cabrini, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 12 assists and guard Ragnar Albertsson (190-93) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Hottur players scored in double figures. Coach Vidar Hafsteinsson's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Dagur Palsson responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and Arnthor Fjalarsson scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Hottur have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Armann at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Hottur will play against Valur (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Armann will play against Vestri (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
