Regular Season Round 14: Le Havre - Provence Basket 70-64

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Provence Basket (12-2) on the court of fifth ranked STB Le Havre on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by STB Le Havre 70-64. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Provence Basket won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 assists. The other American import point guard Josh Greene (183-92, college: CS Northridge) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (198-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Raphael Desroses (199-80) added 15 points in the effort for Provence Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. STB Le Havre (9-5) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Provence Basket at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. STB Le Havre are looking forward to face Denain Voltaire (#7) on the road in the next round. Provence Basket will play against Poitiers (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
