Regular Season Round 13: Herner - Bad Aibling 64-81

Another exciting game was between eighth ranked Fireballs and 4th placed Herner TC where Fireballs (5-8) won against Herner TC (7-6) on the road with 17-point difference 81-64. The game was mostly controlled by Fireballs. Herner TC was better in third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fireballs forced 21 Herner TC turnovers. Herner TC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Lena-Marie Bradaric (166-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Lindsay Sherbert (184, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Fireballs players scored in double figures. American point guard Haiden Palmer (173-91, college: Gonzaga) answered with 19 points and the other American import forward Kristi Bellock (185-90, college: Texas A&M) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Herner TC's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fireballs. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Chemnitz and Donau-Ries. Herner TC at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Fireballs will play against higher ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Herner TC will play against TH Wohnbau Angels in Noerdlingen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
