Regular Season Round 15: Alcobendas - Gran Canaria B 70-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Gran Canaria B's (9-5) road victory over 8th ranked Alcobendas (8-7) 81-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria B. Alcobendas was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gran Canaria B won last quarter 24-15. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Gran Canaria B had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Latvian guard Kristaps Gluditis (191-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Joaquin Portugues (185-95) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists. Four Gran Canaria B players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Nicolas Bermudez (193-95) with 17 points and 5 steals and forward Alberto Martin (197-89) scored 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria B moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Loser Alcobendas dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Gran Canaria B will face Rivas (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alcobendas will play against the league's second-placed La Roda (#2) and hope to win that game.
