Regular Season Round 15: Easo - Valladolid Univ. 93-50

Everything went according to plan in San Sebastian where fourth ranked Easo (9-3) outscored 6th ranked Valladolid Univ. (7-5) 93-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. Easo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Valladolid Univ. to just 6 points in third quarter. Easo dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Valladolid Univ.'s 30. Easo forced 20 Valladolid Univ. turnovers and had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Xabier Beraza (195-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Asier Azpeitia (192-98) helped adding 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Easo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Jorge Rodriguez (200-98) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Easo moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Santurtzi and Ardoi. Loser Valladolid Univ. keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Easo will face Zarautz Ulacia (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Valladolid Univ. will play against TAKE Tolosa (#15) and hope to win that game.
