Very predictable result when fifth ranked Lecco (10-6) edged on the road 12th ranked Volpino AltoSeb. (5-11) 82-79 on Saturday. Volpino AltoSeb. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Michele Peroni (188-94, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Simone Centanni (185-91, agency: Interperformances) responded with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and the former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (195-80, agency: Players Group) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Volpino AltoSeb. players scored in double figures. Lecco maintains fifth position in B with 10-6 record, which they share with Faenza. Loser Volpino AltoSeb. keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Lecco will face league's leader Orzinuovi GaGa at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Volpino AltoSeb. will play against San Vendemiano (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
