Regular Season Round 27: Toros - Fuerza Regia 59-92

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nuevo Laredo. First ranked Fuerza Regia faced 3rd placed Toros. Guests from Monterrey (27-1) smashed host Toros (16-11) 92-59. The game without a history. Fuerza Regia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Fuerza Regia outrebounded Toros 35-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. It was a good game for American forward Andy Panko (203-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Colombian power forward Cesar Cortes (200-81) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Lorrenzo Wade (196-85, college: San Diego St., agency: DTMones) added 11 points in the effort for Toros. Toros' coach Jose Martinez Boglio gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fuerza Regia have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 27-1 record. Toros lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third position with 11 games lost. Fuerza Regia will play against Abejas (#9) in Guanajuato in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toros will play on the road against Ciudad (#8) in Ciudad Juarez and hope to get back on the winning track.
