Regular Season Round 20: Pauian - KKL 65-86

Bottom-ranked KKL managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Pauian 86-65. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 21-point difference suggests that KKL is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pauian. KKL forced 26 Pauian turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Kuan-Chuan Chen (197-93) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and international point guard Chia-Chun Wu (177-94) scored 17 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pauian's coach Ban-Da Mai gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. KKL (6-18) moved-up to sixth place. Pauian at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. KKL will play against bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan (#7) in the next round. Pauian will play against Taiwan Beer and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
