No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Juventus (9-10) beat bottom-ranked Siauliai (2-17) in Utena 81-67 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Juventus outrebounded Siauliai 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Martynas Echodas (204-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Siauliai in the defeat. Juventus moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Neptunas. Siauliai lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Juventus will meet at home higher ranked Vytautas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siauliai will play against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) in Panevezys and hope to secure a win.
