Regular Season Round 14: Thor Thorl - Haukar 94-84

Very expected game in Thorlakshofn where 11th ranked Haukar (5-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Thor Thorl (8-6) 94-84. It looked good early as Haukar took a 19-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Thor Thorl took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. They made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Thor Thorl shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Polish Maciej Baginski (195-95) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. American guard Sherrod Wright (193-91, college: George Mason) replied with 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Haukar. Thor Thorl have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Thor AK. Haukar at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Thor Thorl's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Snaefell (#12) in Stykkisholmur and are hoping to win another game. Haukar will play on the road against the league's leader KR in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
